My first Thanksgiving!

I had so much fun on Thanksgiving! I was held the WHOLE day. I don't really know who all held me, but it was stilll great. It actually snowed and mommy and daddy took me outside so I could see it for the first time. It was so pretty. Momma said that I'll be seeing a lot more snow in a couple more weeks when we go to Chicago! I can't wait.

I am in love with a man! Momma said that he is my daddy! I don't know what a "daddy" really is, but he makes me laugh. He makes such funny noises that I just can't seem to not smile. I don't know where he goes during the day, but I never see him until at nighttime. But when I see him, I get soooo excited I just can't contain myself.

All because two people fell in love.....

Mommy is sooo funny. She can't seem to put that "flashing" thing away. She does some wierd things with me. I don't really know why she put her and daddy's rings on my toes, but oh well! What can I do, I can't even speak yet! So I guess I just have to go along with it!

Big girl!

I am such a big girl now! I love to smile and laugh at momma and daddy! I got to go to my first ever camping trip a couple weeks ago. It was so much fun. I even wore my brand new overalls! I am almost 2 months old and I am getting so excited to fly to Chicago and see my boppy and papa and Tante'. Momma said that we will have lots of fun and that I will be spoiled. That's cool with me!

5 weeks old!

I have been super sleepy lately. Momma said that it's because I'm going through a "growth spurt"! I guess I am because I now weigh 7 pounds 11 ounces. I just turned 5 weeks old yesterday too!!! Life is so much fun, at least when I am awake! Mommy gives me TONS of kisses all day long. It's kinda annoying, but I guess she loves me a lot! Mommy got so excited because I smiled at her for the first time a couple days ago. If I knew that she would be that thrilled at a smile, I would have done it 5 weeks ago!!

Our Baylor family!

Last weekend I went to my very first Baylor homecoming. I had soooo much fun. Mommy and daddy say that I am gonna go to Baylor too one day. I'm not sure about that right now, but I sure did have fun there. But I must say that the football game wasn't very exciting cause we lost. I've been told that happens A LOT! College seems like a lot of fun. But I have to concentrate on kindergarten first.

Fort Worth Zoo

I already got to go to the Fort Worth Zoo! It was soooo cool. I wanted to pet the BIG cat! But mommy and daddy said "NO". I was mad about that, but at least I was able to see it. It was so fun to get to go to the zoo already. I can't wait to go back....Maybe when I'm 2 months they'll take me back there.

First visit to mommy's work!

I finally got to meet all the voices I heard over the last 8 months of being in mommy's belly. It was pretty cool to meet a whole bunch of babies like myself. I was even able to go into the actual newborn nursery. But I am glad I didn't have to stay in one of those places when I was born. They all seemed to be so sad to be away from their mommy's and daddy's. They all were crying. And I finally got to meet Carson. Momma is good friends with Miss Lena, and she just had little Carson 3 months ago. Momma said that Carson and I are going to be friends......

Sleeping Beauty!

I love sleeping! My momma and daddy say that I need to sleep so I can get big and strong. I don't know about that. I just can't seem to keep my eyes open much longer than a couple hours at a time. I like to dream in my sleep. I dream a lot about eating momma's milk and it makes me smile in my sleep. My parents think it's gas, but I know better than that!!! Mmmmm, I love momma's milk! I just hope that it helps me get bigger than my 6 lb 5 oz body.

Gramma is the coolest!

I love my gramma! She spoils me soooo much. I wish she lived here in Texas! But I get to see my gramma and poppa in 2 more months for Christmas. My momma told me that we get to go to Chicago to see them. I don't really know what "Chicago" is, but my momma said that it is VERY cold there. So hopefully my momma packs some of my warm clothes. It was sad when my gramma had to leave, because she would talk to me all the time. She kept telling me "hi". I kept saying "hi" back to her, but she didn't seem to understand. But she gave me lots of kisses and I liked that.

I love my daddy. He's teaching me all about football, except when we fall asleep together on the couch. Football is fun and all, but it's too confusing that it makes me tired. But luckily daddy is pretty wiped out too lately! He says that I am keeping him up all night, but I don't think so! I only see momma every night when I call out to eat!

I love my momma! She always feeds me when I cry. It's amazing that she knows what I am asking for. This crying thing really works!

Man momma, how many bows do you have for me? I mean, I like them and all, but what if I want to be a tomboy when I'm older? Oh well, daddy will be my advocate until I can talk!

Bathtime!!!

Here is goofy daddy giving Kate her first bath. She doesn't really like bathtime very much. But a few days later, mommy and kate took a bath together and she loved it!!! She liked being completely submerged in the tub better (we had to wait until her umbilical cord fell off). She usually eats and falls fast asleep afterwards from screaming so much! haha.

Here is Emma sniffing out baby Kate for the first time. So far, Emma doesn't mind the baby. She seems to be needing a little bit more attention, but I think she likes having the baby in the house. Except for the 3 am feedings!!!! But who does?!?!

Here is our precious new daughter, Kate Embry Harris. She arrived Saturday, October 6th at 7:30am. She weighed 6 pounds 12 oz and 20 inches long. She has blue eyes and brown hair and is perfect in every way! We are loving parenthood. She has been sleeping through the night from day one and is a very good breastfeeder! She looks just like daddy! We love her so much and can't wait to introduce her to our world! Her birth was amazing, too. I delivered her at Special Beginnings birthing center. Our midwife was a gift from God. I labored 5 hours at the birthing center in the tub and delivered her in the tub too. Dave got to pull her out and hand her to me. He thought that was pretty cool. But everything went great and I only pray that all my next labor and deliveries will go that smoothly!

Mommy and Daddy!

We went to Waco last night to have dinner with a friend and then hung out at my best friends, Rene's house. We had a lot of fun. We finally got some pictures of Dave and I together. We have 3 more weeks until my due date. However, I am betting on Kate being overdue. Dave's 27th birthday is October 17th, so he wants her to come on his birthday. I had my midwife appointment yesterday and everything is looking great. Kate's heartbeat was 144 bpm. She is still VERY high. It seems as though she is perfectly happy to "cook" a little bit longer. I was excited to find out that I actually lost 2 pounds from the week before. But we're just hangin out and waiting for any sign of a baby!

9 Months pregnant!!!

Yea!!! I am now on my 9th and final month of pregnancy! I am soooo excited. I have had a rough last 2 weeks. It all started with an unfriendly bladder infection. I was taking antibiotics for that and it was just about healed when I then received a bad cold! My cold almost felt like bronchitis. I coughed sooooo much for a full week. Due to my severe coughing, I then ended up fracturing a rib. It has been a long two weeks and for that, I am now VERY ready to be done with pregnancy and have Kate in our arms!

Growing friends!!

This first picture was taken a few months ago at my friends baby shower. The next picture was then taken at my baby shower a couple weeks ago. We were all nursing school friends and roommates! Once Kate is born, we will take a third picture of all three kiddos! Kate is very lucky! She has 2 handsome boys to pick from! It's fun to compare stories with these girls! Natalie is a labor and delivery nurse, Jule is a NICU nurse, and I am a newborn nursery nurse! We basically cover it all!

8 months pregnant today!

Well today I am officially starting my 8th month! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has been going! I am so excited to hold her and kiss her. Dave and I started our child-birth classes last week. We have 4 more weeks of it every Wednesday night! They will serve us well once the time comes to deliver Kate. I think it is a great eye-opener for Dave. All the information we learn in the class I already know, but Dave will have to step up to the plate once labor hits, so this class is more for Dave!!! I think he truly likes learning all about this stuff, but of course he won't admit to it!!! Well, only 8 more weeks and we will be parents! Life will be dramarically changing soon, and we are thrilled!!!

Coming Attraction!

31 Weeks pregnant!!!! 9 weeks to go!! I just took these pictures last night for the baby shower invitation. I am feeling pretty good, except the days I work those long hours. Usually the days I work, I get really bad sciatica pain, that shoots down my right leg. But it also is nice to be busy at work because it helps pass the time! Last night I set up the pack-n-play and it looks so cute. We are really getting everything ready for Kate. I didn't want to be much further along and have to decorate the nursery or go out buying last minute things. I just wanted to try to relax as much as possible and enjoy these last few weeks of FREEDOM!!!! haha. But we are getting more excited with each passing day!

Dave's daughter!

The spitting image of Daddy!!! When I saw this in the sonogram, I couldn't believe my eyes! It was as though I was looking at Dave while he slept. It was such a special moment to see my husband in our unborn daughters face. Alghough I must say, I think I see a lot of me in the other photos of her. But this one in particular is 100% her daddy! It will be fun to compare a picture of Kate after she is born with all of these 4D pictures! It is truly a miracle to create another human being. How does anybody look at these photos and say that there is not a GOD! We have such an awesome and creative God!

Uncle Dave and his side-kick!

My family all met in Disney World for Thanksgiving 2006! Here, Dave and our littlest niece, Heidi, posed for a goofy photo. Heidi has formed an inseparable bond with her Uncle Dave!!! She LOVES him! We went to Chicago a couple weeks ago, and Heidi would only go to Uncle Dave (my feelings were a little hurt, but boy did it make Dave feel great!) Heidi actually pushed me away from Dave while he was cuddling with her. I heard Dave say MANY times "I'm ready for Kate to be here"!!!!

What a HOTTIE!!

Mmmm......my hunky husband!!! Here we are on the beach of Cabo San Lucas! (you didn't honestly think that I was going to put a picture of me pregnant in a swimsuit on the beach?? Did you??haha) We want to go back there next year with Kate. We basically hung out at the poolside the whole time just relaxing. I felt bad, because Dave wanted to do much more adventurous things, but I was pretty much out of commission!

Well, this is our current baby girl, Emma Grace! She will soon have to share the spotlight with Kate Embry come this October! We have had Emma for almost 3 years. She is such a great and sweet golden retriever. She LOVES kids and babies, so I think she will adapt very well with the new baby. As you can see in this picture, she is very studious!!!
