Love this one! I am trying to figure out which ones I am going to blow up and frame? It's sort of hard to pick....

Sweet, 3 year old Kate Embry! Can't believe she is already 3! It's so fun to see her personality come out each year as she grows. She truly has been such a pleasure to raise and have as a daughter. I hope and pray that we remain close as she continues to grow! It is definitely hard to learn to "let go" as they grow up, but I know that is what we are called to do as Christian parents. I hope and pray that we can teach her how to depend on God more than on us as her parents....then we will know we have been successful!

It's hard to believe, especially since I am "camera" crazy, that we have had family pictures taken. The last time we had professional pictures taken of Dave and I were our wedding pictures. So it was WAY overdue! Of course, I always get yearly pictures of Kate so we were able to combine them in this photo shoot. And I never had any maternity pictures taken when I was pregnant with Kate, so I thought with Cooper, I was going to capture it all!!!! I was sooo happy with how they all turned out. A sweet friend of ours is a photographer and she took all of these for us. She is so talented!

Can't believe Cooper will be here in a few short weeks! Yay!!!

Deep in thought....

Very bored. There's a funny story about this photo shoot. During the shoot, Kate was not acting like herself. I mean, don't get me wrong, the pictures of her still turned out great and I was very happy with them, but she was just not the normal, happy, silly girl the whole time. She kept saying that her "booty hurt"!! lol I couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. Well, after pictures, we were driving home and all of a sudden Kate started screaming and crying from her car seat! She was yelling "I'm going poopy"...over and over again. She was so scared and seemed to be in pain. I felt so bad for her. Well, Dave couldn't pull over because we were on a bridge, so I turned around in the car and unbuckled her from her seat. I lifted her out of the seat and just held her until we could pull over. I kept having to tell her that it was okay and that we can clean up everything. She just kept crying with this look of horror on her face. And pretty soon, the smell took over the car....Dave and I started laughing at the whole situation. By the time we pulled over, it was everywhere. We had to strip her naked on the side of the road, throw her cute bloomers she was wearing away...and totally clean everything...all in which with this wreched smell. I start gagging and Dave was laughing at me! So then I started laughing so hard that I couldn't control my bladder (remember, I am 8 months pregnant)!!!!! lol So then after it was all clean, we got back in the car and told Kate to tell us if she feels like she has to go some more. Mind you, she is now sitting in her car seat butt naked....not 2 minutes back in the car, she starts crying again saying that she has to go again. So we pulled over as fast as possible and grabbed her from the car. Not a second after I was holding her in mid air on the side of the road, she started with it all over again. Poor thing. It was quite an event. Gross, funny and sad all the same time. But after all that, we finally figured out what her "booty hurt" and why she wasn't being her normal self during pictures! lol

But who can tell that her tummy was hurting during this photo shoot????

Kate sure is excited about having a baby....she talks about him every day and kisses and hugs my belly on a daily basis. I really think she is going to be a great big sister. I keep trying to imagine what life is going to be like with another baby....it's hard to imagine splitting time between Kate and Cooper...Kate has been the only child for 3 years and we've had a blast with her. I want to have that same time with Cooper, but I guess it will just have to be a different experience. But Cooper will be so lucky to have a big sister in Kate. She will truly love him!

I truly love being pregnant, even though this time around has been MUCH more difficult as far as heartburn, uncomfortableness, aches and pains! But nothing is too bad when you feel them moving all around inside you and you can only wonder what on earth is he doing in there?!?!

Could any 2 people look more alike? They are sooo cute though! Kate sure has a blast with her daddy! He really knows how to have fun and adventurous with Kate. Dave loves his dirt bike, and now it seems as though Kate is picking up his love for them too!

She keeps asking when she can ride one by herself? lol Not for a LONG time, at least that's what I say. Daddy thinks in just a few short years!?!?! We'll see about that!!

Kate is sooo blessed with so many wonderful little friends! Gracey is our neighbor and dear friend! Gracey is 10 months older, although Kate is bigger than her! lol They love to play and laugh and just be silly together! Here they were sharing a ride on Kate's little toy horse!

Kate is very lucky to have so many animals that she has grown up around. Her Nonnie even got Kate her very own minature horse, Annabelle. This one is another pony that they have out there. There is a total of 4 ponies.

Kate has no fear of all these animals! She just loves them and they love her too....I think it's because she always is feeding them!

This 4th of July we got to see baby Cooper for the first time! Kate and I met Dave up by his office to have a sonogram to see if baby Harris is a boy or a girl! Kate was so excited. She kept saying for weeks that it is a boy! She would say "I like Cooper. It's Cooper"!!! Kids have funny intuitions!!!

And the BIG reveal!!!! It's a BOY!!!!!! Yep, that's right! I was totally surprised and caught off guard! But I am getting more and more excited! It will be different than having a little girl, but I am up for the challenge! I just need to figure out where to go buy all his clothes. Kate had soooo many adorable clothes and hairbows, but I guess I will just have to continue to save them until another girl comes around!!!! So our new little member is Cooper Michael! I can't wait to meet him in another 20 weeks!

Well, we found out last Wednesday what Baby Harris is!!!! But I thought it would be more fun to put together these boxes to send to the family to open! I had 15 boxes filled with pink candy and 15 boxes filled with blue candy. We had the names picked out for both boy and girl and all we needed was to find out which one it was! I REALLY REALLY thought it was another girl. I have felt the exact same way as I did when I was pregnant with Kate. And quite honestly, I was hoping to have another girl. I just love having Kate around and all the fun things girls get to do. I love the Disney Princesses and dolls.

Special Beginnings!

Kate got to go with me to hear the baby's first heartbeat! It was my 12 week appointment and it was my first time to go see my wonderful midwife again after all these years!!!

Puppy Love

We went to the park a few weeks ago to celebrate Sitende' Mai, the Norwegian Independence Day, with our neighbors and other friends. My paternal grandmother was born and raised in Norway and I am very attached to my Norwegian roots. And it is a blessing that our neighbors also celebrate this holiday. So we make a fun play date out of it. We have a little parade for the kids, picnic lunch, games, Norwegian snacks, and Norwegian story time! But this year, one of the mom's had her 2 new puppies with her. Well, as you can tell by the pictures, ALL Kate wanted to do was play and hold these puppies. She wouldn't let any of the other kids hold them (although most of the other kids had no interest in them anyways!) They really were adorable puppies!

So not too many little girls REALLY get a little pony from their grandparents, but meet Belle! Dave's mom and dad have almost 100 acres of land out by Hillsboro, Frost, Texas. There are horses, cows, pigs, dogs, donkeys, and now a miniature horse. Kate just loves this little horsie! Her name is Annabelle! And she is sooo sweet.

Although I dress her with bows and frills, she is a true country girl at heart! She just loves being outside and playing with animals and insects!

All ready to fly to Florida! I think Kate had the best seat on the plane! She looked so nice and cozy!

Orlando does things right. As soon as you get off of the plane, they have this giant Mickey Mouse to meet you. I think Kate thought that the airport was Disney World! She was soooo excited!

So what ride do you go on when you're 3 months pregnant? DUMBO!!!! I LOVE rollercoasters, and being pregnant and going to an amusement park don't mix. But luckily we were there for Kate. And I was able to experience most of the magical moments right there with her!

Amazed at "It's A Small World"..... at one point she did ask daddy if she could get out of the boat because she wanted to swim in the water. lol

Dave got to take her on all of the kiddie rollercoasters. And she LOVED it! She is a little adrenaline junkie, just like her momma and daddy! Those are her hands up in the air! haha

Meeting new cousins in Sugarland

This past weekend, we traveled down to Sugarland for a very dear friend's wedding, and we were so thrilled to be able to visit with Dave's family that lives in that area! Dave has an aunt and uncle that live there, along with his 2 cousins that are both married and have kids. The craziest thing is ALL the kids are girls! Dave's one cousin, Kimberly, has 2 sets of fraternal girl twins: Caitlyn and Mackenzie (5 1/2), and Ashley and Reagan (2). The other cousin, Lance, has 2 little girls: Trinity (7) and Lynley (5 1/2).They are all just precious!!!! And Kate is definitely REALLY wanting to have some siblings now!!! She just loved all the commotion and "playmates"! So this picture above is of Reagan on the left and Ashley on the right...

Kate and Reagan really hit it off. They loved eachother! It was so cute, Reagan and Ashley are about 3 months younger than Kate, but since Kate is the typical first born child, she kept calling the little twins "babies"...and she would be gentle with them and pat their heads saying "hi baby"...and then would run off and try to play with the 5 1/2 year old twins. It was sooo funny! As you can see in this picture, Kate was actually trying to "hold" Reagan!!!

Kate was watching some older boys sliding down this with their hands up in the air, so all of a sudden, you could see her practicing putting her hands, so when she got up to the top of the slide, she sat back, lifted her hands up and went for it!!! She's such a little dare-devil!!!

March 4, 2006 was a day I will never forget. It was the best day I have ever had and definitely the best decision I've ever made. It was becoming Mrs. David Harris! He is my best friend. He keeps me laughing in the most tense situations, loving in the most desparate moments, and yearning to be a better Christian! So we decided to switch up who is in charge of our anniversary every year, so this year was my turn to surprise him. So I picked one of our favorite places for filets, Bob's Steak House. It was fabulous. And then we went back to our house for a surprise 1 hour long couples massage. And the whole time, Kate was spending time with her Nonnie and Nannad...we had a fun night. I love you, Dave. Thanks for 4 wonderful and fun and exciting years!!! We have MANY, MANY more to come!!!!

So last weekend we went down to Frost, Texas to spend a day at my in-laws 90 acre ranch! It was a blast...absolutely beautiful out there. Donkeys, horses, and PIGS!!! Her Aunt BiBi has a baby pig named Lola and Kate fell in love with her!!!

Kate and her best friend, Riley, got to go play at Dave-N-Busters the other night and they had a blast! They both climbed up to this game and tried to figure out how it worked! Their daddy's loved this one! Of course, Riley's daddy REALLY loved it since they are Red Raider alums, we just let it slide with Kate...hopefully she will know that a Bear is where she belongs!!! haha

So I know this little outfit looks a bit like we're going back in time to the 60's or 70's, but I think it's so cute. We were going to meet daddy for lunch this day at his office! And she was VERY excited. Although, when I told her we were going to go have lunch with daddy, she said "No, I go to Disney World"! LOL Well, then! Let's just get in the car and go to Disney World!

We are planning on a Disney trip at the end of April, so that is ALWAYS on her mind! She just LOVES her princesses and they go everywhere we go...she even has to sleep with them!

Here she is with her 4 princesses. The other night, daddy was putting their little dresses back on them (because Kate likes to undress them), and he wasn't putting the right dresses on the right princesses...and boy, did Kate let him have it!!! "Daddy, NO, that's NOT Belle"!!! LOL

My beautiful roses from my hubby! He's so sweet! I actually thought he would forget, or just not do anything, but he surprised me!

He first came home with the pink flowers for Kate, and Kate ran up to me and showed me "her" flowers from daddy. I thought that was SOOOO sweet, but I sort of was thinking, "well, gosh, he better have gotten me some too!!!", and sure enough, he then took the roses from behind his back and gave them to me!

So we have been working on getting Kate's big girl room all ready. We put up black and white damask wallpaper on the bottom, Dave painted the top pink and then he added the chair rail! He did an awesome job!!! I just got this eiffel tower lamp for her room and added the pink fringe on the shade. I also covered her wood table with a black tablecloth and then bought a yard of this damask fabric and topped the table off with it! I just love her room! There are still a few more things to hang on the walls, but it is almost done!

Her new bedding! I am ordering this awesome metal crown that sticks out of the wall to hang over her bed. It's this 3-dimensional thing that you hang sheer drapes behind it and then the drapes hang on each side of the headboard! Pictures will be following soon!

Another view of her room! Her chandelier that I bought and added some pink fringe to as well! And her bedroom set is really special to me. The bed and dresser are over 100 years old. It was my great-grandparents from Norway. It has been in the family for EVER!!!!

So the other day, we got TONS of snow here in Mansfield! We measured 12 inches! It was awesome. It reminded us of being up north with my family! Kate LOVED all the snow. We spent 2 days outside playing in it!

She even tried eating the snowman daddy had made for her!

Yep, she's my kid!!!! She LOVES the cold and snow!!!! She kept saying "Boppy and Papa have snow"....she was a bit confused where my parents were, because she only know of them to be along with the snow!!!

I will sometimes fill her little kitchen sink with some water and put it on the playroom floor for her to play with it...and the other day, I came back into the playroom and found her giving her baby a bath....

I was so impressed. She was doing the exact thing I do at work in the newborn nursery! She is such a natural! And what a great big sister she will be!

And then another day, I found her doing this with her snacks....when I asked her what she was doing, she simply replied "hanging wallpaper"!!!! I guess that's what you get when you let your 2 year old watch you hang wallpaper, they try to do the same thing!!!! haha

The other night, we celebrated our little niece's first birthday....so we HAD to get a picture of all the little ones in Dave's side of the family together in one picture....as you can see, the family nearly doubled in size within 2 years. First came James, then 8 months later came Kate, then 7 months later came Wyatt, and then 9 months later came Annalee.

Kate LOVED Santa. This picture she wasn't smiling, but the picture that they got at the mall was of a very big smile! But she ran right up to him and climbed in his lap before Dave and I could even get to her!

And when Santa asked her what she wanted for Christmas, she replied "presents"! Duh!!!

Kate checking out her Elf on the Shelf....today he was spotted hanging from the china cabinet!!! She likes to talk to him and it is sooo fun to wake up every morning to go hunting for him!!!

All dressed up in her special Christmas outfit that Boppy got for her to wear for Christmas in Chicago!!! But we had to wear it early so she could get more use out of it! We were getting ready for our church's christmas musical this morning and then we were heading to The North Pole Express Train!!! So Kate was ALL SMILES!!!!

She was showing me the Christmas ornament from the tree, even though she is not allowed to touch them. I guess she was taking advantage of the fact that I was too busy behind the camera to really get after her!!!

Well, it's official, Kate is smitten for an older man....and it's not daddy! She just lights up whenever she sees or hears of Santa! We took her Friday night to see Santa and the whole time we were in line, she kept yelling over the railing saying "HI SANTA. I COMING". Not one part of her was hesitant or scared. I keep waiting every year for her to be at the age of screaming or crying at the sight of a scary, big bearded man...but, nope! Not Kate. She is fearless!!!

She ran right up to him and jumped in his lap without Dave and I even getting a second to help her! It was pretty cool, they let us take our own pictures after they took a shot! So that is why Kate is not smiling in this one! I think she was a little confused as to why we were taking soo many pictures. She just wanted to talk to the Big Man and tell him what she wanted: PRESENTS! Thanks Kate, that really narrows it down!

I love that she is holding Santa's finger! She is still talking about sitting on Santa's lap!

So I have always wanted to learn how to sew and make these cute little dresses that my neighbor makes. So my other neighbor and I finally attempted at it...and ta-da!!! This is it! We were quite impressed with ourselves. So now there will be more to come!

I just loved this fabric and saw it last year and never got it...so this year, I bought it early and we spent 3 nights working on it and it turned out really cute. I already bought some more fabric to make another spring dress!

Now let's all pray that it will actually hold up with a very active 2 year old wearing it!!!

Kate's new fashion statement lately has been her new knit hat. Thanks to a friend who came and stayed at our house a couple weeks ago and brought Kate her first brown hat, we quickly fell in love with it and I ended up buying her a white one too!

One day, we went to Joe Pool Lake that is right by our house and fed the ducks and fish and ate a little bit of appetizers. My family LOVES going there cause it reminds them of being on vacation! It really is beautiful there! Here is a picture of my sweet little girl!

We also went to a really cool restaurant called Babe's. It is family style fried chicken! It is sooo yummy! My dad said that this is his new favorite place to eat when coming to Texas!!!

A friend from work makes awesome cakes, so she made Kate the cutest and yummiest cake!!! She even put a whole bunch of little "2's" around the edges of the cake! It was 3 layers of vanilla cake with 2 layers of strawberry filling. It was FABULOLUS!!!

Last weekend, we were privelleged to have my parents and grandparents come down from Chicago to visit us for the week. We had a blast! One of the days they were town, we went to Possum Kingdom to show them my in-laws lake house. On the way there, we stopped at this really cool bar-b-q place and ate some really yummy food and took some fun pictures.

Both Kate and our neighbors have these really cute rollercoasters for the kids to play on, so we put both of them in the neighbors yard and let all the kids play on them the night of Halloween. They loved it!

This was sooo cute. Colton's parents are teaching their son how to be a gentleman to ladies, so he would always get out of the wagon first and then hold Kate's hand to help her out of the wagon. It was adorable!

So after about the 3rd time of doing this, Kate finally caught on and decided to "add" to Colton's "manly" duties by handing him her sippy cup so she could get out of the wagon! We laughed sooo hard. And Colton just looked at it in astonishment as if he was saying "What the heck, what do you think I am? Your slave!!" After they would run up to a house to get candy, Colton would then open the wagon door and let Kate get in first!!! If I ever have a boy, I am totally going to teach him this very same thing...it's sooo sweet!

So I'm a little late on posting these from Halloween, but we've been really busy! I guess you can say, we've been busy like a bee!!!!

Kate ALWAYS makes this expression anytime she hears something. She'll go "UH, I ear soming"...it's so cute. We were all ready to go trick-or-treating!!

Even Emma got in on the action! She doesn't look very thrilled! Especially when Kate is hitting her with her wand!!!

Precious little bee watching and waiting....we ended up going over to our neighbors house beforehand and eating LOTS and LOTS of yummy food and then a whole big group of us went around the wonderful neighborhood to trick-or-treat...we had a blast!

I took Kate yesterday to a little local pumpkin patch so we could pick out some littel pumpkins to color and carve. Kate had a great time just getting out of the house and running all over the place.

By the end of the trip, we had about 20 pumpkins piled into the stroller that she wanted to buy! I finally convinced her that we only need a "mommy, daddy and baby pumpkin"!!! That worked!!!

Yes, look at it closely...I promise I didn't even notice it until my mother tells me about it. I am pretty sure some teenager was thinking this would be pretty funny for all these cute little kids taking pictures on this bench with this particular pumpkin!

Last weekend we went up to Nonnie and Nannad's lake house at Possum Kingdom. Kate loved playing down by the lake and throwing rocks and sticks into the water. It was a beautiful day and a fun weekend.

Kate decided to pick the number 2 up instead of keeping it on the ground.....so fitting for a 2 year old!
